For context I've been staring at this specific question that requires me to construct and solve a differential equation for quite a few hours.
I've attempted many things and gotten nowhere close. I bit the bullet and asked a friend and he gave me the answer ( I'm not that satisfied with it so I'll continue to search for my own method regardless )
My question is that basically, is what I'm doing effective at increasing my abilities?
A great deal of knowledge comes from experience and my understanding is that IQ is relatively fixed. If nothing jumps at you when you've been trying it for 30 or so minutes, you're probably better off looking it up or asking for help.
What are your takes on this?
